Ceramics 1: UnConstructed Cube
Students’ will:
1. The goal here today is to make sure that the cube is STRUCTURALLY SOUND, meaning it can stand on it’s own. We have one last piece to attach as well as clean the edges up so that everything is square.
ART.VA.1.HS.5 Resposnibly and safely manage materials and tools.
2. PART 2 of the cube: UNCONSTRUCED…what does this mean, why did we spend so much time building a cube just to cut it apart? As we go over the requirements for the second part of the project, make sure you understand the differences between SIDES and EDGES…YOU WILL BE CUTTING OUT EDGES
Painting 1: Heroes in Distress Postcard
Students’ will:
ART.VA.1.HS.5 Resposnibly and safely manage materials and tools.
1. Yesterday we laid down background and highlights. Today we focus on MIDTONES and how a second layer is applied to a painting.
ART.VA.1.HS.1 Apply acquired knowledge and skill to the creative problem solving process.
2. You must continue with the same base that you started with yesterday. Today, watch the technique used when blending in a new color, the goal is we don’t want to turn the painting into a “Color by Number” painting, the goal is to make it look REALISTIC.
