  • Document the process of applying GLAZE and develop a better understanding of it’s uses.
  • Orally ask any questions about the project demonstration they may have using complete sentences.

We are going to take a little detour with today’s class, and discuss some specific and unique ways to FINISHING your pieces in this class.  You will get some time to experiment with the GLAZE, as well as develop a set of notes that outlines important information that you will need to be responsible for knowing in this course.  While I’m not excited about leaning on the assistance of a PowerPoint presentation, HERE IS THE LINK, if you would like to follow along on your personal devices.

Let’s have a conversation…

What do you feel it takes to make an audience understand a work of art?  What types of questions do you have when looking at a piece of art?  We are going to take some time out of class today, not only to look at some artworks, but also to answer some questions about ourselves.  In the back of your mind, I’d like you to think about what it means to “make art.”

 What does it mean to be an artist? What are your BIGGEST FEARS about producing art and “being” an artist?

  • Critique, justify, and present choices in the process of analyzing, selecting, curating, and presenting artwork for a specific exhibit or event.

It’s time for that last part of the project!!!  You will need to have your ACTION PLANS ready to go for some assistance today in writing your ARTIST STATEMENT.  As we move through the hour, I’d like you think about what it really means to “talk on the a paintings PERSONAL MESSAGE…”

Produce

  • reproduce a demonstrated color pencil techniques practiced in class
  • list the proper colors used for colored pencil techniques by following in class demonstration with guided notes
