2 days left

While each day this week is going to straight forward: working on your project, you will need to also remind yourself that DAILY GOAL FORMS are now going to be due at the end of each class period.  You are walking in to the classroom, already knowing what the expectations are, you have a goal for the hour…you should get credit for it.

  • Apply media, techniques, and processes with sufficient skill, confidence, and sensitivity that their intentions are carried out in their artworks by creating a two color stencil artwork based off of the work Shepherd Fairey’s Obama “HOPE” poster.
  • Communicate ideas regularly at a high level of effectiveness in at least one visual arts medium by using content specific vocabulary words in their DAILY GOAL forms.

So we are in the thick of it right now.  A few days left to independently work on your stencil(s) before we frame this work together on the deadline date (Feb. 25).

Reflection Question: I’d like you to spend some time today thinking about what this work may have looked like if you decided to switch the space(s) that you removed.  Would that have changed the colors of paper you decided to work with? Would the work that you had to do on a daily basis have become a bit easier/harder?

Think about your approach or STEPS you are taking when first starting this challenge.
  • Initiate, define, and solve challenging visual arts problems independently using intellectual skills such as analysis, synthesis, and evaluation by creating and following your ACTION PLAN
  • Discuss their choices and evaluate a range of subject matter, symbols, and ideas by being able to defend the choices made with their peers.

So we have an extended deadline here since we had a little discussion on the requirement of “responsibility of the artist.” Be sure that you are keeping the way that the public interprets your piece in the back of your mind as you work through this challenge.

Day 8 of 10

in the homestretch…

  • Initiate, define, and solve challenging visual arts problems independently using intellectual skills such as analysis, synthesis, and evaluation by creating a ACTION PLAN
  • Discuss their choices and evaluate a range of subject matter, symbols, and ideas by being able to defend the choices made with their peers.

With just a few days left, and only 2 firings to go, this project will be coming to a close this Friday.  Since many people are finding it difficult to keep track of their progress I thought that I would present a question for you to answer…

REFLECTION / EVALUATION:  Consider all the requirements that have been presented with this  project.  Which areas do you believe will be more demanding when trying to solve?  Which areas do you believe you will easily succeed at?  Choose one option to describe in detail
