Intro To Art: Animation Challenge

  • Apply subjects, symbols, and ideas in their portraits and use the skills gained to solve problems by carrying out the choices made in their ACTION PLAN.
  • Describe the origins of specific images and ideas and explain why they are of value in their artwork and in the work of others by answering the REFLECTION/EVALUATION question:

Reflection Question:  Out of all the information that was presented today, which requirements do you feel will be the easiest for you to carry out in acrylic paint for your upcoming project?  Which requirements do you feel will be the toughest to follow through with.

Yesterday I was asked by a student, “How do you figure out how long we should get on a project?”  Which I thought was a great question…

The deadline dates are not always “set in stone” nor do I have a master calendar where I MUST get something completed/done.  I take a look at the process of what I am asking you to complete and break down the steps, allowing for sufficient time for mistakes to be made and correct IF the student is serious about succeeding.  Let’s take a look at your current challenge:

  • April 19: Project presentation
  • April 20-21-22: Cels tracing
  • April 20-22: Cel painting
  • APRIL 23: SKETCHBOOK CHALLENGE
  • April 25-26-27: Cel and background painting
  • April 27-28: Shooting animation
  • April 29: Deadline to turn in (HALF-DAY)

This may seem a bit too much to focus on early, but keep in mind, setting up goals for yourself on a daily/project basis has always been part of the classes objective.
