Intro to Art: Half-n-Half Magazine Value Challenge

  1. Demonstrate the application of VALUE by creating a toned sketch based off of a personal image.
  2. Create a list of which values they plan on using for their sketch.

Sept. 29 is on it’s way here, what are you planning today so that tomorrow you are set up for success?

So this probably is the most cliche, teacher-ey thing I’ve ever typed in this blog, but I holds some value here.  We have been working on this project for 3 days after it was presented almost 5 days ago.  Many students use the first few days/weeks of school as the “feeling out” phase.  A time to figure out what they are going to focus on to get the grade they want.

We have  6 days total dedicated to working on this challenge, and another 2 sketchbook challenges within that time frame.  So I go back to my original question :

what are you planning today so that tomorrow you are set up for success?

Graphic Coms: 5 Day, 5 Icon Challenge (Day 3:Netflix Icon)

  2. Follow demonstrated steps to properly use the Pen and FX Style tools within Adobe Photoshop

What type of GRAPHIC ELEMENTS do you see in this icon?

Day 3 and following the routine of the other class periods, we will be working still within Photoshop to use tools that we have already gained a bit of familiarity with, as well as the PEN TOOL to create some custom geometric shapes.

Drawing: Value Study Challenge

  1. Demonstrate the application of VALUE by creating a toned sketch based off of a personal image.
  2. Create a list of which values they plan on using for their sketch.

We are going to jump into our first drawing Project Challenge, and up until this point,  I’ve been evaluating your drawings based on the skills you came into this class with.  Now over the next 6 days, you will be working specifically to prove the new abilities that you have gained, practicing with the drawing pencils.

Below is a link to the challenge requirements which should be reviewed before you start to guarantee success on this project.
