Intro to Art: Lined Shapes Challenge

  • Combine elements from a previous work completed in class and their understanding of how LINED SHAPES are created, by building a creative and unique composition.
  • Respond to the PROJECT REQUIREMENTS, by prioritizing their daily tasks through filling out a DAILY GOAL FORM.

We’ve been working on this challenge for the past few days, and this week you will be wrapping up the leftover requirements.  Be sure as you dedicate your time throughout the hour your work that you are paying attention to the specifics what your being asked to prove.  Better yet, ask yourself, why would he (Mr. Pappas) be asking me to do this requirement on my work.

You can always double check the requirements below on the attached slide:

Graphic Coms: Tourism Postcard Challenge

  • Produce a comprehensive and informative tourist postcard design using customizable and downloaded fonts and brushes to deliver a visual design through Adobe Photoshop.
  • Respond to the PROJECT REQUIREMENTS, by prioritizing their daily tasks through filling out a DAILY GOAL FORM.

Continued work on our first project challenge for this new card marking.

If you were absent yesterday, you should meet with me so that you can pick a city/vacation destination for this project to be centered around.  As for everyone else, use class time today and tomorrow to “research” all necessary information as well as needed downloaded materials to be used on this project (ie. brushes and fonts)

Drawing : Identifying Composition Styles

  • Apply their understanding for enlarging a photograph by recalling steps taken to create a grid drawing and building an enlarged image from a photograph.
  • Listen to directions and be able to retell specific steps taken in the GRID ENLARGEMENT process by checking their peers work through a private critique.

Last week we had a little “fun” trying to use the ruler to set up a grid.  Regardless of where you are at today, we will be spending some time in class to double-check to make sure that our grids are set up correctly to ensure that we, in fact, can ENLARGE our image.

Now for those of you who are able to get the grid complete or may have been absent check out this link for some additional info on using a grid to enlarge a drawing:
